Welcome to the International Spirits Challenge, now in our 13th year, we are  leading the way tasting and promoting outstanding quality spirits from around the world.

Each year nearly a thousand spirits from across the globe are rigorously judged and tasted by the industry’s leading international spirits experts, many flown in from around the world. The commercial benefits of winning one of the prestigious ISC awards are huge, reaching all levels from distiller to retailer.

Key dates are:
  • 16th May - Deadline has been extended. Last date for receipt of Entry Forms or Online entries to the Spirits Challenge
  • 16th May - Last date for spirits deliveries to Anglo Overseas UK (entries from outside UK only)
  • 27-30th May - Delivery date for UK entries to JAM Media
  • 23-27th June - Judging dates
  • 30th Sept - International Spirits Challenge 2008 Awards Dinner at Claridges,  London

Sending Your Spirits From Within The UK

Bottles must arrive at JAM Media between Tuesday 27th May and Friday 30th May 2008. Bottles should be delivered to:

  • Bottles delivered before 27th May or after 30th May, will be turned away.

Vital points to remember for delivery

  • Boxes containing spirit samples must be clearly labelled on the outside, with the name of the submitter and International Spirits Challenge 2008.
  • The submitter must pay for all duty, carriage, UK clearance, storage and taxes payable on spirits. Failure to do so will result in your spirits not being entered for the tasting.
  • No spirit deliveries will be accepted at the William Reed Publishing offices in Crawley, West Sussex.
  • Late arrivals will not be accepted and neither credits nor refunds will be issued if the forms or spirits fail to arrive on time.

Cost Of Entry

Entrants may submit as many separate spirits as they wish.

An entry charge of £98.70  + VAT or €148.05 + VAT will be made for each spirit entered. Entry into the Discovery Tasting is an additional £45 + VAT or €67.50 + VAT.

Entries with a total net invoice value under £250 must be paid by credit card online or by post with a cheque/credit card and a paper entry form. Entries with a total net invoice value over £250 may be paid online by credit card or by requesting an invoice, or by post with a cheque/credit card and paper entry form. Upon receiving the invoice, payment can be made by credit card (Visa, MasterCard), cheque or bank transfer.

Payments by cheque must be paid in £ Sterling or Euros and should be payable to “William Reed Publishing Ltd”.

Payment for entries must be made strictly in accordance with the terms mentioned on the invoice, failing which spirits will not be entered into the competition. William Reed takes no responsibility for the returning of any spirits received on this basis.

Number Of Bottles To Submit Per Entry

  • Two bottles of each spirit must be submitted for each entry.
  • Three bottles must be submitted if entering into the Discovery Tasting.
  • All Medal-winning spirits will be tasted by at least two separate juries. All Gold Medal winners will be tasted three times in order for Trophies to be awarded.
